Guide for Authors
Submission Guidelines:
Authors are encouraged to submit their original manuscripts online via the Innovations in Materials: Current & Future journal website.
Submit Manuscript
All papers undergo a peer-review process and should be written in clear, concise English. Ensure your manuscript is checked for grammatical, typographical, and clarity issues before submission.
Manuscript Preparation:
- File Format:
- Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word file format (.doc or .docx).
- Structure:
- Title: Should not contain abbreviations or formulae and should be no longer than three lines.
- "Running Title" means a shortened version of your article’s title — usually no more than 50–60 characters — that appears at the top of each page of the published paper or in the journal header.
- Author Names and Affiliations: Include full names and affiliations of all authors.
- Corresponding Author Email: Provide the email address of the corresponding author.
- Abstract: A concise summary of the manuscript’s content. Avoid abbreviations.
- Keywords: A list of relevant keywords.
- Body: The main text of the manuscript, usually comprising the following sections: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, and Conclusions.
- Nomenclature, Acknowledgments, Funding Statement*, Conflicts of Interest*, Appendices, and Authors’ Contribution Statement* (asterisk-marked items are obligatory).
- References: Should be numbered in the order they appear in the text, following the Vancouver style, with the DOI included at the end of each reference.
Paper Template:
- The publication of any manuscript in IMCF requires adherence to the paper template. The template is available in the IMCF Template file.
- Initial submissions do not need to conform strictly to the template. However, if accepted, authors must submit the final version of the manuscript compliant with the template.
Artificial Intelligence Policies for Authors:
- Semnan University's publication policy permits the use of AI tools in manuscript preparation, provided authors maintain full human responsibility and oversight. All substantive AI use must be disclosed in a dedicated statement upon submission and within the manuscript's acknowledgments section. Crucially, AI may not be listed as an author, and the generation or alteration of images with AI is prohibited unless it is an integral part of the research methodology, in which case it must be thoroughly detailed in the methods section.
Fees:
- IMCF is a 100% free-of-charge journal for both authors and readers. There are no publication fees for accepted papers.
